We were recently commisioned by our major client Network Rail to capture the first stages of a multi-million pound revamp of the Cardiff and Valleys' rail network. Due to be completed by 2015, the improvements will allow additional capacity on the line and provide hundreds of extra seats each day during peak times. The ambitious project has been described as the 'equivalent of conducting open heart surgery on the railway', and the challenging brief required a versatile solution. Four of the Lobster team, armed with lightweight and portable timelapse rigs, worked around the action and dynamically captured each stage of the complex process. For this type of work, we use the same high-end Canon DSLRs and professional lenses that we use in our flagship Lobster Pot systems to produce absolutely stunning results. Over two days and nights we produced timelapse, still images and video footage that the project will use as a promotional tool and training aid, a sample of which can be seen above. More examples of our recent filmmaking include the Stonehenge Fire Garden and the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta 2012.
