Our good friends at Mocha recently asked us to participate in a very special project for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

We sent Marc and Thom to document the magical makeover of a suburban house in Melling, Merseyside, as it was transformed from a family home in to a snow-covered winter wonderland by a team of volunteers from across the country. The makeover was done as part of <a data-cke-saved-href="http://www.facebook.com/fairydish" href="http://www.facebook.com/fairydish" "="">Fairy's 2012 Make-A-Wish campaign - aimed at raising as much money as possible so that the foundation can keep granting amazing wishes to children battling life-threatening conditions. This wish was granted to Allanya Wrench, a four-year-old living with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL). As soon as Allanya left for school, the team got to work. Here's the house at 9:00am, ready to be transformed! We set up one static camera to capture the transformation from start to finish, and followed the action with four portable rigs. We use professional quality Canon DSLRs and lenses for all of our manned work, making sure we capture everything in ultra-high-definition for use in the highest quality digital workflow. We also used our super-portable, three-axis motion rig - giving us pan, tilt and track functionality that really brings time lapse photography to life. Our experience in time lapse post-production meant that - as soon as the work was complete - we could download, backup, process and deliver the content, instantly, for Mocha to take back to their edit suite. They've produced the fantastic video above. Here's the finished house at 4:00pm, complete with baubles, street lighting, fir trees and plenty of artificial snow from award-winning ice masters Snow Business. When Allanya arrived home she was greeted by a large group of family, friends and her very own ‘Fairy Godmother’ – former Coronation Street and Waterloo Road actress Angela Griffin. The smile on Allanya's face when she first saw the winter wonderland was a lovely moment and really highlighted the enjoyment that these wishes bring to hundreds of children living with serious illnesses every year - it's safe to say that the team involved in the makeover did an amazing job. You can help Make-A-Wish Foundation to continue their amazing work by picking up special packs of Fairy in store, or by visiting the Fairy Facebook page and clicking on ‘Like’ or ‘Share’ - in each case, Fairy will make a 50p donation directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
