Case Study: SEHA
Introduction
SEHA - The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company - are building two 'mega-hospitals' in Al-Mafraq and Al-Ain. In late 2010, we were asked to propose an overall solution that would meet and exceed their needs for site monitoring, time lapse and remote collaboration, over the three year build at two sites.
What we did
We were able to present confidently and speedily - Our technical manager Michael McKelvaney visited one site for a recce within 48 hours of receiving the first enquiry. This was followed with a formal proposal presented to stakeholders in Abu Dhabi two weeks later. Further technical recces at both sites - 150km apart - were performed. Solar Power was required for the Al Mafraq site, but not needed on at Al Ain, which already has a hospital in place. We subcontracted a maintained solar supply service to our preferred provider in Abu Dhabi.
The Al Ain site did not have any infrastructure - so 25m observation towers were fitted on our recommendation. At Al Mafraq, we identified two positions on the existing hospital, and provided detailed specification for a scaffolding tower for a third.
Lobster Pot Extreme
We built, tested and tested again six Lobster Pot Extremes - three for each site. Having placed a cellular camera at Al Mafraq for Foster + Partners in 2010, we were aware of how to successfully deploy and manage an entirely cellular, single box solution. With two trips out, we installed six cameras - which have been performing flawlessly ever since.
