We’re looking for an intern to join us at an exciting time for the company. The brief is wide-ranging - you’ll be writing, filming, editing and learning all at the same time. We're offering an initial six-month trial, £14k pa salary and 25 days' holiday (pro rata).
The position is based in our Central Bristol office/workshop/studio.
Writing blog posts and other social media You need to have a sharp and concise writing style and be able to structure the amazing work we do into informative, entertaining and interesting copy, stills and video. You will work with our clients’ PR and marketing people to get great soundbites and you’ll be able to write and produce to very tight deadlines. You must have a very good sense of the social media landscape - from artistic, technical, safety and environmental viewpoints - and you will be able to interact quickly and knowledgeably with our followers and friends. Studio and Media assistance We often produce time lapse and video for shorter periods using a wide range of cameras and equipment - including ‘making of’ films. You’ll be assisting with this, including maintaining and preparing equipment and helping our full-time editors to produce behind-the-scenes footage. We have a small time lapse studio with computerised 6-axis motion control and lighting. Learning how this works and helping us produce showreel-quality 4K and 8K footage regularly will be a big part of your job. Person skills This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate in Journalism, Media Production or Marketing - though technical skills, bags of enthusiasm and a great attitude are more important than qualifications. You’ll need to have a great phone manner as you’ll be engaging on a daily basis with staff, suppliers and clients. Technical skills The ability to use a DSLR camera is essential - and we’ll be testing this. If you’ve produced time lapse before, that’s a bonus and we need to know you can write copy. The ability to edit - using Final Cut Pro or Premiere - is essential. We have very specific workflows so we’ll be providing some technical training, but we can’t start from scratch.
