East Village N06 is a development in East London, comprising two residential towers, 26 and 31 storeys respectively. Two further 10 storey pavilion buildings were an iconic part of the build due to the structures being connected with a high level skybridge.
Mace were appointed as principal contractor to lead the works, with innovations in construction methodologies including an offsite assembly process, drastically reduced programme times, improved safety, and minimised disruption to the local community. Embracing leading digital technology to track and monitor the projects’ delivery was imperative to the success of the scheme.
As with any major construction works, managing different works packages – especially when different phases overlap – can be challenging. Monitoring and recording the different processes, and methods were essential responsibilities for Mace in order to uphold effective project management practice and for safety compliance in alignment with the Golden Thread.
Key objectives of the scheme included a fast project delivery, increased safety and increased sustainability.

Mace required a digital solution that could increase speed, safety as well as sustainability. The project team were already well acquainted with Lobster Vision through numerous projects working together, and due to the global framework agreement. They appointed Lobster Pictures to provide the online solution to visually document each phase via each different camera. The results helped with speed of delivery, tracking site activities, client reporting – whilst providing remote visibility that would increase safety of workers onsite, as well as reducing visits to site – improving sustainability.
“It allowed us to monitor and record progress across several work phases at once. Having Lobster on board enabled us to smoothly drive the programme and deliver the project with ease. Great customer service, coupled with a health and safety focused install team resulted in a steadfast delivery.”
