NEWS: SUSTAINABILITY
The Collaborative Effort to Reach Net Zero by 2050
Sustainability is a priority for our clients for addressing the construction industry’s impact on the environment, society, and the economy. Developers and construction companies are increasingly reducing their negative impacts on the planet in efforts to reach Net Zero by 2050, as the construction industry and the built environment is a major source of carbon emissions, representing around 40% of the UK’s total output.
Minimising our impact
At Lobster Pictures we’re committed to our responsibilities as part of our clients supply chains in order to work towards mitigating the effects of climate change.
We develop, build and test our cameras and online technology in-house ensuring full control over quality and reliability of components and software throughout the supply chain.
In terms of sustainability, this means:
- Health checks can be performed remotely from our UK offices.
- High quality cameras built for the long-term, meaning a long product life cycle.
- Camera parts can be reprogrammed, refurbished and recycled for zero waste.
- Maintenance visits by technicians to and from the site are rarely required.
Product innovation with sustainability at the core
Our newest advancement, the Lobster Pot 4 (LP4) camera reduces our carbon footprint as many of our worldwide clients now have the option for easy self-installation, making this more economical for our clients, as well as a more environmentally friendly service for the planet.
The LP4 also offers two eco-friendly options to power your camera: a solar panel, or mains cable – both methods are exceptionally low power consumption.
